FAQs

  • When you are ready to enrol please complete our online international student application form.

    You must include the most recent transcript or school report, visa documents and a recent photograph of the student.

  • International Students at Whitby Collegiate must live with a parent (or legal guardian) or a Designated Caregiver.

  • Whitby Collegiate is set in park-like grounds, providing an ideal learning environment. Our campus has clean air, maintains a leafy green environment with wide open spaces.

    Students have access to the newly built Ioane Fiso Pavilion classroom block, specialist teaching spaces, science and technology laboratories, art and music rooms, and a dedicated Library. The Bradford Gymnasium houses full-sized basketball, netball and volleyball courts, as well as four badminton courts.

    Whitby Collegiate is situated in the relaxing suburb of Whitby, and is only 20 minutes drive from the heart of Wellington City, the capital of New Zealand. It’s easy to get places by foot, car, boat, train or bicycle - and there's an accessible and affordable public transport system.

    There is so much to do and explore in Wellington and the wider region. A cultural hub, Wellington is home to creative and inspirational art galleries, theatres sculptures and festivals. It’s also not hard to escape the city which is wedged between rolling hills and a glistening harbour.

Admissions & Fees

Whitby Collegiate welcomes applications from around the world.

Applications can be submitted at any time of year, though we recommend applying a minimum of six months in advance in order to secure a place.

Steps for applying for Admission:

  1. Complete an online application to enrol here

  2. Student interview (interview times will be set once we have received the application)

  3. Offer of place received from Whitby Collegiate (if application is successful)

  4. Full fees paid to Whitby Collegiate to confirm the offer

  5. Fees receipt and confirmation offer of place received from Whitby Collegiate

  6. Application for New Zealand student visa submitted to Immigration New Zealand

  7. Medical and Travel insurance to be confirmed

School Fees

The Whitby Collegiate fees are based on a four term year.

The Proprietor’s Board sets fees at a level that will allow the school to flourish, but that also responds to the flexibility that modern parents often require. The Proprietor’s Board reserves the right to vary fees at its discretion.

Please note the following fees information and schedule is for international students only.

All fees are stated in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax of 15%.

Annual School Fees 2024
School fees are paid at the beginning of each calendar year for the full year. If a student commences study part way through a year, fees for the remainder of that calendar year only are to be paid.

Disbursements

There are a range of disbursements that will be required during the year. The following are indicative costs for the year. At the end of the year, any unspent amount will be returned to the students' parents. If additional fees are required, parents may be asked for a top-up during the year.
